Cornwall’s Magic Circles Map
Two circular opportunities for enjoying our beautiful surroundings await lovers of the outdoors in Cornwall. The blue-blazed Mohawk Trail passes through Cornwall’s forests and hills and links to the Appalachian Trail in Sharon and Falls Village. The Mohawk Trail was actually part of the Appalachian Trail before the AT was re-routed in the 1980’s. The Upper Housatonic Heritage Area’s Hou-BikeWalk Trail, also called the Housatonic Covered Bridge Trail, forms another loop for walking and bicycling along three scenic roads.
CCT’s preserves buffer these trails and preserve their scenic beauty. In fact, the Mohawk Trail passes through seven CCT preserves, including the property donated by the Greenes this year, and one CCT conservation easement. Two pending CCT acquisitions (as of October 2025) – Cobble Forest and Furnace Brook Forest – line the Housatonic Covered Bridge Trail.
