Fulfilling a long-planned legacy, Ed and Dinny Greene have donated 65 acres of scenic woodland on Johnson Road to the Cornwall Conservation Trust. This joins the 200 acres the Greenes donated to CCT in 2018, expanding the Greyledge Preserve to 265 acres.  The Greyledge Preserve is part of a large block of forever-wild forest that also includes CCT’s  Nancy Nauts Dobbs Preserve and Red Mountain Preserve. These CCT preserves are linked in turn with Mohawk State Forest. Headwater streams, core forest, rock outcrops, ridgelines, and ravines provide important habitat for wildlife.  The public can enjoy these spectacular properties via existing and future hiking trails, including the blue-blazed Mohawk Trail.
